build a network of strong relations with patient
associations, volunteers, social organizations and
the friends of our centers. Following the model of
governance promoted by the board of governors, we
open the organization to citizen participation and we
participate in the bodies representing health care in
the city.
In the digital age
•
The MAR@laxarxa blog has been reinvented to
encourage participation by professionals, users,
family members and the public in general, and
this space has been opened up to the publication
of more content, such as news, events, scientific
outreach, campaigns, projects, and any and all
relevant information of corporate interest.
•
The new websites of the Plastic Surgery
Department, the Neuropsychiatry and Addictions
Institute (INAD) and the Nursing Department have
gone into operation. Work has begun to redesign
the website of the Hospital del Mar Medical
Research Institute (IMIM).

•
The 3rd Conference on Health Promotion
Hospitals and Health Care Centers (HPH) saw
the presentation of the experiences of PSMAR
hospitals in the four basic lines of work of the
HPH: practical literacy in health, health promotion
standards, health promotion aimed at workers and
sustainability of centers.
•
The 2nd Conference on Nursing in the Tertiary
Hospitals of Barcelona city was held, jointly
organized with Hospital Clínic, Hospital Sant Joan
de Déu, Hospital Sant Pau and Hospital Universitari
Vall d’Hebron, with the aim of creating a forum for
nursing professionals in the hospitals, exchanging
experience and learning about the different realities
of our environment.
•
The eSalut Futur o Realitat Conference sponsored by
Telefónica saw notable participation of the eHealth
projects of PSMAR, presented at the central table of
the conference: ICOR, telemedicine with patients
suffering from heart failure; REHABITIC, distance
rehabilitation, and Colabor@, teledermatology
between primary care and hospital.

An agreement with Memora Serveis Funeraris has
made it possible to continue the musical-therapy
project in the Palliative Care Unit. The aims of using
music for therapeutic purposes include improving
the care of terminal patients and can bring a new
and more modern dimension to clinical activity. It
helps to provide wellbeing in the last days of life
and contributes to reducing anxiety, organizing
memories and managing pain and emotions.
Different quantifiable variables of improved quality
have been defined to scientifically show how it
affects the wellbeing of patients.
Firmly rooted and taking part
•
The relationship with the citizen and patient
associations was shown in the different events
to celebrate world days dedicated to different
diseases. Of note were the conferences on cancer,
minority diseases, fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue,
Alzheimer disease, smoking, hepatitis C and kidney
diseases.
•
The PSMAR centers played an active role in the
different blood-donation campaigns organized
