by the Blood and Tissue Bank. The involvement
of professionals and users have led to the
consolidation of these events in community
activities.
The 2012 Marathon organized by TV3 was dedicated
to cancer research, with notable participation and
advice provided by professionals from Hospital
del Mar, who also took part live on the day of
the marathon and, beforehand, made several
appearances on the afternoon and evening news
the program “Valor Afegit” on Canal 33, “L’Oracle”
and “La Nit dels Ignorants” on Catalunya Ràdio.
Another solidarity activity was the result of the
collaboration with the Big Food Collection of the
Barcelona Food Bank, through an online collection
campaign, which raised awareness and brought
together the PSMAR professionals. A total of 2500
euros was raised.
We collaborated with the support and guidance
groups for adolescent and young mothers of the
Health and Family Association, a shared space in
which mothers share experiences with other young
mothers facing the responsibility of bringing up
their children and receive information, support and
accompaniment.
The sponsor group has been set up for the creation
of the Association of Friends of Hospital del Mar,
which aims to encourage the participation of civil
society in projects and programs carried out in the
hospital.
A score of 8.44 out of 10 is the level of satisfaction
of our users with the services we provide. An 98.7%
state that they feel they are in good hands.
More than 100 volunteers carried out approximately
8600 different actions with hospitalized patients

The employees’ Saint George book celebrated its 15th
anniversary and was in e-book form. (Image page 35)
The Intercultural Mediation Service carried out

Community > Objectives

Implement the Association of Friends of Hospital
del Mar. It will be necessary to define the strategic
plan, the operations plan, the fundraising plan,
the plan for relations with sympathizers and the
volunteer plan, as well as the communication plan
and launch campaign.

Develop new volunteer programs in the outpatient
area of Hospital del Mar and in leisure activities for
people with mental disorders.

Establish strategies and actions for improving the
information provided to patients and their families.

Implement and stimulate new platforms for
participation by professionals and citizens, such as
the MAR@laxarxa blog.

Establish communication channels for
disseminating economic results, and results of
activity and quality, together with other corporate
decisions.
